Containment - Secondary

Secondary Containment is a second barrier or outer wall essential in containing waste chemicals or similar in the event of a leak or spill from a storage container. Secondary contaiment helps protect surface water, groundwater and soils and reduces worker exposure to regulated substances. The enclosure is usually required wherever regulated substances are being handled and stored in tanks, totes, drums, small pails, or other containers.
